Down the flue, on camera

Ian carries out CCTV inspections, so the inside of your chimney or flue gets looked at properly, not guessed at. Every sweep uses HEPA filtration for maximum cleanliness.

“Luckily he discovered the burner shouldn't be used due to issue with the liner.”

What came down

Nests out, flue clear

A nest in the pot can block a flue completely. Nest removal is part of the job: these all came out of chimneys, stoves and ranges Ian has cleared.

Nest material pulled down into a black stove
A large nest brought down into a tiled fireplace onto a dust sheet
Twigs from a nest cleared into a fireplace opening
Nest material and wire pulled from a range flue onto a dust sheet

Glass that looked beyond saving

Sometimes a stove needs more than a sweep. This one was in a holiday let, and the glass was black with tar.

“A very delicate restoration of the glass from this stove was needed here (I actually thought it was irretrievable)
But with some time and heavy duty tar removal products, the glass was fully restored, and not etched in the process.
Unseasoned wood in this holiday let from guests was the main culprit for this. Thankfully the flue was undamaged.”

Small black cast-iron stove on a slate hearth

“Arrived spot on time, well turned out and very thorough sweep of our flu collecting more soot than anyone else has in the past! An honest and straight talking approach which is a welcome change. Very conscious about customers property, 'sheeting up' from the front door, gave us some good advice about ongoing maintenance too. All in all highly delighted and will definitely be using again. 5 Star service!!”

“Ian swept our multi fuel stove today and was incredibly thorough and went above and beyond to sort out the log burning stove. Really good communication too. Would thoroughly recommend.”

Rachel RollinsonGoogle review, September 2022

“A great professional and polite service, we have had two visits by Ian now to sweep our chimney, he always leaves our cottage spotless and is very knowledgable. He was reassuring when I asked about our fire bricks, and is also able to replace these when required. Thoroughly recommend!”

Dan BenfordGoogle review, November 2023

“Many thanks Ian. Very thorough and knowledgeable. He was going to give our log burner a sweep in the property we moved in to. Luckily he discovered the burner shouldn't be used due to issue with the liner. Once we have got the liner/adaptor sorted we will certainly be using him for our sweeps each year on the burner. Thanks Again Ian :).”

Atkinson S. L.Google review, July 2019

“Ian came out at really short notice and did a fantastic job of cleaning and re-instating my fire. A total gentleman, very knowledgeable and explained everything, including safety precautions etc that I hadn't even considered. I will now be using Ian for my yearly sweep! Very competitively priced too. Surprisingly, can't wait for the cold weather so I can cosy up!”
